Golder geophysicists have collected geophysical data for thousands of land based surveys. The data from these projects were used in support of a seemingly endless list of projects including engineering, environmental, mining and hydrogeological investigations.

Terrain conductivity, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska

Terrain conductivity survey for delineation of abandoned landfills, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska.

Montgomery Watson, Landfill, various US Airforce Bases, USA:

Location of military landfills, underground storage tanks and utilities at several US Airforce bases, including the Presidio and George AFB, California and Nellis AFB, Nevada.

City of Issaquah, Abandoned Mine Workings, Washington, USA:

Location of abandoned coal workings beneath a residential area.

Confidential Client, Solution Features, London, UK:

Delineation of solution features in chalk, caused by the presence of acidic materials, buried beneath the reinforced concrete floor of a large warehouse.

US DOE test facility, Geological Logging, New Mexico, USA:

Geophysical logging during the injection of a grout barrier as part of the DOE's innovative technology program.

Phelps Dodge, Fault Analysis, New Mexico, USA:

Analysis of a fracture/fault system around an active waste dump at Chino Mines using very low frequency electromagnetic methods, to more accurately locate sites for monitoring wells.

East King County Groundwater Association, Acquifer Study, Upper Snoqualmie Basin, Washington, USA:

Time domain electromagnetic soundings were made over an area of 50 square miles to evaluate the potential for a regional water supply.

Crossrail, Structural Survey, London, UK:

Examination of the construction of two Victorian tunnels to provide design parameters for a new subway using radar.

Parsons Brinkerhoff, Bedrock Survey, Utah, USA:

Determination of the depth to bedrock for a major highway construction project through Provo Canyon using seismic refraction.

Trinidata LNG Group, Asphalt Deposit Survey, Trinidad:

The geotechnical evaluation of natural asphalt deposits for a proposed LNG facility using time domain electromagnetic and borehole geophysical logging systems.

National Housing Authority, Karst, Kuwait:

Location of migrating voids in the 40 m of sand above a karstic limestone, after the development of large crown holes in a large residential complex using microgravity.

Somincor Mine, Seismicity, Portugal:

Design and specification of a seismic monitoring network to locate tremors.
